Lately, my Pinterest home feed has been overflowing with Korean skincare recommendations and Trader Joe’s skincare products. Naturally, I couldn’t resist trying a few for myself! I’ve added a couple of Anua products to my routine—probably because Anua has been trending a lot recently.
Korean skincare is famous for its gentle yet effective approach to achieving radiant, healthy skin. If you want to simplify your routine while still reaping the benefits of K-beauty, this guide will help you build a basic routine featuring some must-try products.
Step 1: Cleanse
Cleansing is the foundation of any skincare routine. Personally, I start with the Anua Heartleaf Cleansing Oil if I’m wearing makeup. I’ve seen people use it as a first step even without makeup since it’s great for clearing sebaceous filaments, but I don’t usually do this myself.
If I’m not wearing makeup, I stick with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. However, I occasionally apply the cleansing oil around my cheeks and nose—areas prone to irritation for me (though not breakouts).
Side Note: While writing this, I realized I should also try the Anua Heartleaf Gentle Cleanser to enjoy the full benefits of heartleaf in my routine.
Recommendations:

Step 2: Tone
For the longest time, I skipped toner in my routine, and wow—what a mistake! Adding a toner has made such a noticeable difference in my skin’s hydration and balance.
If you’re looking for a great toner, I recommend the Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner. It’s lightweight, hydrating, and perfect for soothing irritation. Since moving to a new home with hard water, my skin often feels dry and irritated, but this toner has been a lifesaver.

Step 3: Serums
Serums are my favorite part of my skincare routine—they make me feel like I’m indulging in a luxurious self-care ritual. Depending on the time of day, I switch between two serums.
In the morning, I reach for the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop, a vitamin C serum that brightens and evens my skin tone. At night, I love using the Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum, which makes me feel like my skin is being transformed while I sleep.
Recommendations:
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop (AM)
Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum (PM)
Step 4: Moisturize
I’ll admit it—I’m a big fan of No7, even though it’s not a Korean brand. Specifically, I use the No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Day Cream both day and night. It has SPF 30 and provides intense hydration.
Every time I feel like my skin looks dull, I realize it’s just thirsty. This moisturizer instantly revives my skin and boosts my confidence.
Recommendation:
No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Day Cream
Step 5: Sunscreen
The TikTok and Pinterest girlies were NOT kidding—wearing SPF every day is a total game changer. Sunscreen is non-negotiable for protecting your skin from sun damage, preventing hyperpigmentation, and ensuring all the serums and products you’ve invested in actually deliver results.
The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF 50+ is one of my favorites. It’s lightweight, doesn’t leave a white cast, and works well for all skin tones. Plus, it soothes and strengthens the skin barrier—a win-win.
Recommendation:
